1968: a traumatic, transformational and consequential year in American history. In the space of just 12 months, the world lost Martin Luther King, Jr., icon of the civil rights movement, and watched the silent power of two American athletes raising their black gloved fists in protest on the Olympic podium in Mexico City.
The OSU hoops alumni team Carmen’s Crew is remembering and honoring the struggles and legacy of this consequential year with a continued call to end racism and fulfill the promise of equal rights in 2021 and beyond. The fight for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness continues.
1968: remember and advance. Be the change we need today.
